Family

Meet the Parents:

Rosalyn Lee Woodrick wasn’t a witch. She was never even a believer of magic, even as a child she’d been calling bullshit. But Rosalyn was in the right place, at the right time, sitting on a bench under a cherry blossom tree in southern Ireland. It was there that she met David Micheal McPhearson, a Scottish author who swept her off her feet. Rosalyn fell fast for the man, for his cherry cordials and love letters and those secret looks he’d give her from across the kitchen table at her parents’ house. She up and married him at age twenty-five, never looking back or regretting it, especially not when they had their first child only a little over a year later, Farrah Taylor McPhearson. Farrah was their first-born, their babygirl and five years later, they had their first boy, Gordon Mitchell McPhearson. They loved their two children like crazy, and when Gordon was ten, they had /another/ kid, little Cameron Riley McPhearson.

David Micheal McPhearson (Father):

  • He works for the transportation department in the Ministry of Magic. He used to be an author, but he quit that job and found one that’ll support the family once Rosalyn got pregnant.
  • When he first saw Rosalyn, he thought she was so beautiful he literally tripped over his own feet falling because he kept staring. That’s how they really met, because she laughed and asked if he was okay.
  • Even when Farrah was growing up, David would constantly making sexual remarks that stunted Gordon’s interest at a young age.
  • He was closest with Gordon until the Accident, where he more-so reserved himself to Farrah and Rosalyn afterwards.
  • The one person he cares about most in the world is Rosalyn, and after seeing how much pain she went (and is) going through after the Accident, he’s brought himself to hating Gordon.

Rosalyn Lee Woodrick (Mother):

  • Rosalyn is a stay-at-home mother. She had previously worked as a nurse, but she quit her job to stay home and take care of the children.
  • The first time she found out David was a wizard was the day of their honeymoon. She freaked out and hid in the closet until he assured her it was alright. After that, she didn’t really mind.
  • When Farrah got her acceptance letter to Hogwarts, Rosalyn couldn’t be more excited. She was so amazed at Diagon Alley that it was harder keeping her from running off than it was five year old Gordon.
  • Rosalyn loves all her children but Farrah, being the first-born, always has a special place in her heart.
  • When Cameron was born, Rosalyn was absolutely in love with him. Cameron was her everything.
  • After the Accident, Rosalyn completely shut down for about two years. She doesn’t think she’ll ever forgive Gordon. She acts as though he doesn’t even exist.

Farrah Taylor McPhearson (Sister):

  • Farrah is the first-born, five years older than Gordon. She’s currently working as a photographer and fashion editor in muggle London.
  • She’s a bit weird. A lot weirder than your average girl you’d see on the street, which is why writing is such a perfect job for her. The Magazine she works for in London has never been so successful since she joined the team.
  • Farrah is a pet-name kind of girl. She’ll usually go with dollface, sweetcheeks, babe, that sort of stuff. Gordon picked up this habit from her.
  • Farrah and Gordon are actually extremely close, believe it or not. They always have been. She was always coming to his rescue when they were children, and even after the Accident, Farrah never stopped loving her brother.
  • She’s currently trying to get the rights to have Gordon move in with her rather than live at their parents’.

Cameron Riley McPhearson (Brother):

  • Cameron was two years old when he died.
  • It was very clearly obvious that Cameron was their mother’s favorite. Being so young, he obviously didn’t realize this, but everyone else just knew.
  • Cameron was a lap-baby. After he learned how to walk, he’d still constantly climb onto people’s laps.
  • He was also a little fire-rocket. He was constantly running around, picking things up, drawing all over the walls and just going crazy. But his mother just laughed at his antics.
  • He as learning how to talk before the Accident, and instead of Farrah and Gordon, he called them Fairy and Bubba.
  • Cameron was absolutely crazy for Farrah. She was the only one who could put him to sleep at night and he’d scream if anyone else tried.
  • He looked up to his older brother, Gordon. He thought he was the Man of the World, and tried copying everything he did.

The Accident:It happened when Gordon was twelve years old. It was his first summer back from Hogwarts, and Farrah had just graduated Hogwarts. It was usually Farrah’s job to watch little Cameron, but Farrah was staying at a friend’s for a week over in Ireland. Rosalyn was going crazy planning Farrah’s graduation party and making calls all over for relatives and what-not, so she asked Gordon to watch Cameron for a bit. Gordon was tired-as-fuck, his mother had pulled him out of bed early to watch Cam and he was behaving basically like a huffy, bratty pre-teen. He was sitting on the front yard with Cameron, who was playing with toy blocks. He got distracted by his muggle neighbor who the boys around the block referred to as “Hot Emily” because she was well… hot. Then it happened.Cameron had gotten up without Gordon realizing and toddled into the street, plunking himself down in the middle of the street right as a truck was driving down it. Gordon noticed and started running like fucking crazy, but it was too late. The truck made impact. And Cameron died.
After the Accident, Rosalyn sunk into a deep depression. She would drink herself to sleep and not even bother with anything. And David? He went insane. He basically hated Gordon with every fiber in his being and blamed him for what happened, and you could feel the tension in the air when the two were in the same room. He and Rosalyn could give two shits about Gordon at this point, and Farrah was the only person who still loved her brother. She didn’t blame him for what happened.
